Superbreak searches for new managing director

After 25 years with the domestic operator Superbreak, joint managing directors, Nick Cust and Mark Wray are to step down at the end of the year.

Cust, who was awarded an OBE for services to tourism in the 2009 New Years Honours list, will also step down from the board of parent company Holidaybreak.

Superbreak specialises in providing UK and European short breaks, theatre and attraction tickets and is one of the market leaders in its field after consistently being awarded “Best Operator” by the UK travel trade.

Both Cust and Wray have agreed to carry on with the company on a consultancy basis after they retire on 31st December 2009.

As the search gets underway for who will replace them, group Chief Executive, Carl Michel praised the pair for their relentless commitment and excellent service to both Holidaybreak and the UK tourist industry as a whole.

Michel added that he was delighted they would both be staying on in consultancy roles and was pleased to still be sharing their invaluable experience. He concluded that they should be proud by what they have achieved with the company, thanking them for their dedicated service and wishing them well for the future.
