Following the swine flu outbreak the Foreign and Commonwealth Office has lifted its ban on all but essential travel to Mexico.
This new advice comes three weeks after the flu outbreak peaked in the country.
The latest FCO advice says “Following a decline in the number of reported new swine influenza cases in Mexico since its peak on 26 April 2009, we no longer advise against all but essential travel.”
The FCO has added that visitors continue to follow precautions to avoid exposure to the influenza.
The British Embassy in Mexico City is now offering a full consular and visa service.
The new advice will lead the resumption of holidays to Mexico, although demand is expected to be low initially.
