An African farm worker miraculously lived to tell the tale after biting a python that held him in its deadly grasp.
Ben Nyaumbe stood on ‘something spongy’ at the farm that he manages in the Malindi area of Kenya, and after wrapping itself around his leg, he soon realised it was a huge python.
The deadly reptile coiled its way around Mr Nyaumbe’s upper body, rendering him helpless. The python then dragged him up into a tree before he managed to bite the snake’s tail as it twisted around his head.
As the python slightly eased its grip, Mr Nyaumbe managed to free a hand and use his mobile to call for help.
His supervisor and local police managed to rescue the terrified farm worker who survived with just cuts and bruises.
The python was captured and taken to a nearby bird and snake sanctuary where it later escaped and remains at large.
