Almost half were prepared to cut back on shopping and 38% said they would save on nightclub and bar entry fees by finding cheaper options.
In separate research STA Travel also noticed a new trend with more young people wanting to be the first of their crowd to experience new destinations and then brag about them on networking websites.
A 10% increase has been registered in adventure holidays and an increase has also been seen in destinations like China and Vietnam. With a mixture of competitive prices and more adventurous holidaymakers, long haul destinations are becoming the modern trend for today’s youngsters.
