A favourite beach with holidaymakers in Cornwall is up for sale and could be yours for a mere £50,000.
The 76 acres of golden sands at Guithian Beach will go to auction on July 13th and has already attracted attention from around the world.
Situated in the north east of St. Ives Bay, part of the ‘Cornish Riviera’ holidays here are extremely popular with nature lovers and surfing enthusiasts, and a condition of sale is that the land can never be built upon, and must remain open to the public.
The beach is currently owned by Dennis Arbon, a trustee of the Hall for Cornwall, a performing arts venue in the area. Mr Arbon has kindly donated the beach to the hall with all proceeds from the sale going to the venue.
Surfing groups are rumoured to be ‘chipping in’ to try and buy the beach between them, but with interest from as far afield as America, the starting price of £50,000 may well be easily exceeded.
